The InterGills are aiming to compete in the 2008 Worldnet competition held at Leeds University in July. The annual tournament brings together 72 teams from across the country and a few from beyond to compete in two competitions across the weekend consisting of group matches on day one followed by a knockout rounds on day two.
Having missed out on entering the competition in 2006, the first time the InterGills had not competed since the tournament started, this years competition is eagerly awaited by all those making the trip to Leeds. In previous years the InterGills have played against many different teams and against ex-pro Ray Houghton who played for software firm and tournament sponsors Sports Interactive.
Regardless of how far the InterGills have progressed in the tournament it has always been an enjoyable experience as well as a good team bonding exercise with the chance to re-establish friendly rivalries with supporters from other clubs.
